Keswick Theatre management is dedicated to providing an exciting and memorable guest experience while ensuring the safety and security of all Guests. The following policies set forth certain rules for attending any Keswick Theatre event. These policies apply to all guests. Guests who violate any of the policies will be escorted by security out of the theatre. Additionally, Keswick Theatre management reserves the right to suspend ticket privileges for guests who do not comply with these event policies.

We will provide sign language interpreters for hearing impaired guests. We will make every effort to accommodate the request, but we require 2 weeks notice to secure an interpreter.

Assistive Listening Devices (ALD) are available for hearing impaired guests. Please contact the box office in advance of the show to make arrangements. Receivers are available for most events and are provided free of charge with a valid form of identification.

Verifiable Service Animals are welcome inside the venue but must remain on a leash at all times. Please let the Box Office know if possible when ordering tickets so that we can arrange appropriate seating for you.

For safety and as a courtesy to other guests, aisles and seating walkways must be kept clear at all times. Please follow the directions of the usher in your section to your assigned ticketed seat and refrain from standing in the aisles.

Alcohol Serving and Consumption

  • The Keswick Theatre and its food and beverage concessionaires have adopted an alcohol policy that is designed to protect guests and the community from alcohol-related incidents. 
Guests are expected to obey all state and local laws governing the purchase, possession, and consumption of alcohol. It is illegal for anyone under the age of 21 to consume alcoholic beverages. In addition, the following items are to be noted:
  • Alcoholic beverages will not be served in containers larger than 16 ounces.
  • There shall be a maximum limit of two alcoholic beverages sold to each guest, per purchase.
  • All guests who appear to be younger than the age of thirty-five (35) will be asked to show valid identification prior to being served alcoholic beverages. Acceptable forms of valid United States identification are: Driver’s License, Passport, State Issued I.D. Card w/ Photo, and Military I.D. w/ photo.
  • The Keswick Theatre is legally required to report anyone under the age of twenty one (21) who is observed to be consuming alcohol on the premises or who appears to be visibly intoxicated.
  • The Keswick Theatre and its food and beverage concessionaires will implement ongoing responsible alcohol management training sessions for its serving staff.
  • At most events, service of alcohol will stop 45 minutes prior to the end of the event or at management’s discretion.


Animals or pets of any kind are prohibited in The Keswick Theatre with the exception of trained service animals and service animals in training for guests with disabilities. Service animals are welcome inside the venue, but must remain on a leash or in a harness at all times. Service animals will rest in the seating area of the individual with a disability, rather than in the aisle. A guest whose service animal poses a threat to the safety of other Keswick Theatre guests and employees may be asked to escort the animal off the premises.

Bags / Backpacks / Large Bags / Suitcases

All bags larger than 14″ square, i.e. backpacks, suitcases, beach bags, etc. will be prohibited from entry into the theatre.


Guests are welcome to bring their personal binoculars for all events at The Keswick Theatre.

Booster Seats

Guests are welcome to bring their personal booster seats for most events at The Keswick Theatre. However, guests are responsible for the use and safety of these. We take no responsibility and assume no liability for their use.

Child Admissions

For most events, children 2 years of age and younger will be admitted into The Keswick Theatre without a ticket provided that they sit on an adult’s lap and do not occupy a seat. Any child 3 years of age and older will require a ticket to enter the theatre. Please note that some shows (especially those intended for children) will have a different age policy. For most children’s shows, children 1 year and older will require a ticket. Non ticketed children are the sole responsibility of the parent/guardian.

Code of Conduct

The Keswick Theatre is committed to creating a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable entertainment experience. Guests have a right to expect an environment where:

  • Guests will be treated in a consistent, professional and courteous manner by all venue personnel.
  • Guests will enjoy every event free from disruptive behavior, including foul or abusive language or obscene gestures.
  • Guests will consume alcoholic beverages in a responsible manner. Intervention with an impaired, intoxicated or underage guests will be handled in a prompt and safe manner.
  • Guests will sit only in their ticketed seats and show their tickets when requested.
  • Guests who engage in fighting, throwing objects or attempting to enter the stage will be immediately ejected from the venue.
  • Guests will not smoke in the venue of The Keswick Theatre.
  • Guests will comply with requests from venue staff regarding facility operations and emergency response procedures.
  • Guests will also be responsible for their own good time by reporting inappropriate behavior.

The Keswick Theatre venue staff has been trained to intervene when deemed necessary and to use their best discretion to help ensure that guests who ignore the Code of Conduct do not interfere with other guests’ ability to enjoy an event. Guests who violate the Code of Conduct may be subject to ejection without refund and, to the extent their conduct constitutes a violation of law, may be subject to arrest. The Keswick Theatre hosts two full service bars with soft drinks (soda/water/juice) located in the main lobby at the bottom of stair case. Dependant on the show content, we may choose to not serve alcoholic beverages on occasion (educational programming, programming geared to 21 and under events).  We also serve packaged snacks such as chips, pretzels, popcorn and candy.

Please note that no outside food or drink is allowed into the venue.

Disabled Services

All Guests must maintain reasonable and appropriate behavior at all times. Guests using offensive language or engaging in disorderly conduct may be ejected from the facility and may be subject to arrest. Ejected Guests will not receive a refund for their tickets or be compensated in any way for their loss. Disturbances include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Standing on chairs
  • Placing children on shoulders
  • Drunk and disorderly conduct
  • Fighting or challenging others to fight
  • “Mooning” or exposing private body parts
  • Interference with or delay of the show/event
  • Violation of The Keswick Theatre’s event policies
  • Violation of the local, state, and federal laws and statues
  • Igniting and display of flames, i.e. lighters / matches, in the theatre
  • Attempting to enter the stage or backstage areas without permission
  • Throw, discharge, or launch any liquid substance or objects
  • Willfully and maliciously disturbing another Guest / employee with loud and unreasonable noise
  • Using profanity and/or offensive words, which are likely to provoke a violent reaction from others
  • Taunting or using offensive language against the performers

Door Opening

The time the doors to The Keswick Theatre open will vary according to the event. Typically doors will open 1 hour prior to the event time noted on your ticket. Please also see the specific event page for more information by clicking on the Event Calendar.

Dress Code

All guests in attendance are required to wear a shirt and shoes at all times for their own safety. The Keswick Theatre management reserves the right to deny entry to guests wearing clothing items displaying offensive text and/or images.

Emergencies / Evacuations

The Keswick Theatre works on a continuing basis with the Abington Township Fire Department, the Abington Township Police Department, and other agencies in the development of specific Emergency Procedures Plans for each event. The Keswick Theatre recognizes that its goal is to provide a safe, enjoyable atmosphere. The appropriate security operating plans, trained guest services and security personnel will ensure the security and safety of all guests, performers, and employees at The Keswick Theatre. In the case of an emergency, guests must comply with requests from venue staff regarding theatre operations and emergency response procedures.

Entry Inspections

All Guests entering the theatre during an event are subject to a visual inspection and a bag inspection conducted by The Keswick Theatre security personnel. The purpose of the inspection is to detect prohibited items.

Family Restrooms

The Mens and Womens restroom facilities at The Keswick Theatre are on the Mezzanine level. In addition, we have a unisex/family/wheelchair accessible restroom available on the first floor level. Unless there is a valid need for accompaniment, our bathrooms are intended for single person occupancy.

First Aid

Designated employees have been properly trained and certified to perform First Aid and CPR. In the event of a medical emergency, contact any member of our Front of House, Guest Services or Security staff for assistance. The Keswick Theatre also maintains fully stocked First Aid stations throughout the building.

Food and Beverage

Guests may not bring food and/or beverage items into the theatre during events. Glass bottles or metal cans are strictly prohibited. Guests must dispose of the unauthorized items prior to entrance into the theatre or return them to their vehicle. Guest Services will not check-in or store any food or beverage items. Guest with specific/special dietary needs due to medical conditions or religious requirements should contact the The Keswick Theatre Guest Services.

Guest Services Table

Our Guest Services table is located at the entrance to the main lobby to provide information to guests with questions, concerns, or issues during Keswick Theatre events. Should you have a question, comment, or concern before or during an event, please contact our  Guest Services department. If the Guest Services Table is not staffed, please see the house manager for assistance.

Intoxicated Guests

The Keswick Theatre reserves the right to deny entry to intoxicated guests. Any intoxicated Guests causing a disturbance during an event will be subject to the PA legal guidelines and may be subject to arrest.

Laptop Computers

Laptops or any type of personal computers will not be permitted inside Keswick Theatre. Please make arrangements for their security prior to entering the venue.

Listening Devices

The Keswick Theatre is equipped with a “Listen” assisted listening device (ALD) system. Receivers are available for most events and are provided free of charge with a valid form of identification. Please contact the box office in advance of the show to make arrangements.

Lost and Found

The Keswick Theatre management assumes no responsibility for items lost at events. All lost and found items are to taken to the Guest Services Table during events. After the conclusion of the event, if the lost item is not retrieved, contact us to inquire about the lost item. We will retain items for 30 days, after that each item will be donated.

No Re-entry

The Keswick Theatre has a “no re-entry” policy during events. Guests who wish to return a prohibited item to their vehicle or need to exit and re-enter due to personal emergencies, must first make contact with a manager to make necessary arrangements.

Photo Policy

Non-professional, non-flash still photography is acceptable at most events (disposable, digital, or 35mm cameras with no interchangeable or telephoto lens). However, for some events at the request of the artist/performer, cameras of any type may be prohibited. The Keswick Theatre reserves the right to confiscate memory cards, film and other media, or observe it being deleted if posted signs are ignored. Video recording devices, audio recording devices, monopods, tripods, and cameras with telephoto or interchangeable lenses (professional photography equipment) are not permitted inside The Keswick Theatre at any time. Video recording on any device and/or flash photography is prohibited at all times. This policy will be strictly enforced and management reserves the right to deny any electronic device at their discretion.

Recording Devices

Guests may not bring audio or video recording devices into The Keswick Theatre. These devices include, but are not limited to, video cameras/camcorders and audio recording devices. Any equipment not conforming to these rules must be removed from the premises.

Seating Capacity

Seating capacities vary for every The Keswick Theatre event, depending on the set-up of the event. For most concerts, the capacity of the theatre is 1,300 guests.


The Keswick Theatre frequently posts signs to alert patrons of day to day show policies, i.e., cable ramps in aisles, photo policy, smoking area, noise signs. Please take a moment upon entering the venue to become familiar as the signs are posted to assist you with your enjoyment.

Sign Language Interpreters

The Keswick Theatre is pleased to provide sign language interpretation for guests with hearing impairments. Requests for this service must be received at least 2 weeks prior to the event and may be arranged through the Box Office. See also accessibility.

Signs / Banners / Posters / Pamphlets

Unless otherwise specified by the event management, The Keswick Theatre welcomes guests bringing small signs, banners, and posters inside the building to show fan support during events. The following guidelines relate to these items:

  • Item must be related to event.
  • Item may not be attached to a stick/pole.
  • Item may not be larger than 11″ x 17″ in dimension.
  • Item may not obstruct any sponsors/advertisers signage.
  • Item may not be hung, attached, or displayed on any part of the The Keswick Theatre.
  • Item may not contain or display obscene/offensive language and/or pictures, as determined by The Keswick Theatre management.
  • Item may not be constructed or displayed in a manner that may obstruct the view of other guests or in any way create a safety hazard for others as determined by The Keswick Theatre management.

Guests are not allowed to hand out pamphlets, advertisement brochures, etc. to other guests while inside the theatre or outside under the marquee, without prior approval from The Keswick Theatre management. For more information about tabling and advertising permission, contact us.

Smoking Policy / Non-smoking Environment

Smoking is not permitted in the theatre at any time. During performances, you may exit through the back door into an outdoor smoking area. Please show the security guard your ticket upon re-entering. From time to time we may relocate the smoking area to the front of the building due to inclement weather or quiet events. Please be alert to signage.


Strollers are not permitted into the audience chamber. Guests are encouraged to leave strollers in their vehicles prior to arrival at the theatre entrance. If this is not an option, patrons can store their strollers behind the ropes at the tops of each aisle.

Ticket Resale

The resale of tickets by a licensed and authorized broker is legal in Pennsylvania. However, we will not tolerate the scalping of tickets in and around the property of Keswick Theatre. 
To avoid problems with counterfeit, stolen or voided tickets, Guests should make their purchases through authorized outlets only.


Guests, including law enforcement personnel, not present in an official capacity, are prohibited from bringing weapons into the theatre. The Keswick Theatre does not provide weapon lockers. Weapons may not be checked in at Guest Services.

Weapons include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • firearms
  • explosives
  • stun guns
  • handcuffs
  • brass knuckles
  • sticks
  • clubs
  • batons
  • martial arts instruments
  • pepper spray
  • tear gas
  • knives 

Guests found in possession of the above-mentioned items will be asked to remove the item from the theatre or dispose of it. Guests who refuse to comply will be ejected from the theatre and may be subject to arrest. Guests ignoring these policies are personally liable for any problem that ensues including civil and criminal liability.

Wheelchair Escorts

We do not provide wheelchair escorts. Please see the House Manger or the Assistant House Manager for further assistance. If you or a member of your party will be attending in a wheelchair or walker, please let us know in advance. Failure to do so may result in difficulty accommodating, however we will accommodate to the best of our ability.
